Ben was raised in a small town in Maine in between a Crystal Lake and Stephen King's fictional town of Castle Rock. Needless to say, he's been surrounded by and in love with horror since childhood. After making home movies in high school, Ben did a short stint at film school in New York City before dropping out and moving to Los Angeles. There, Ben started working at a post-production house. He worked on marketing campaigns for massive blockbusters and independent films alike before transitioning to a content creator for a gaming site. Eventually he sought to pursue more story-driven work and moved to Austin, TX where he started to focus on writing and directing. After writing a few feature length scripts and directing shorts as often as possible, Ben set out to on an endeavor to make a short film once a month for an entire year. Three shorts into the year, Ben's "series" was picked up by a Viacom website for distribution. He and his team ended up completing 15 shorts and a 6 episode web series over the span of 18 months. These shorts allowed Ben to play around with various genres and styles as he built up the skills needed to tackle something bigger.
